THE SY-2002-2003 COUNCIL
 

The election for the SY 2002-2003 Student Council officers was conducted in the middle of September 2002. The winners were officially proclaimed a week after. Immediately, projects were lined up by the new Student Council, including the repainting of the UPEPO signage at the entrance which was completed right away.

The Council set its sights on two major projects: the UPEPO Student Council Constitution and the UPEPO Student Election Code. These projects are very difficult and time consuming to do but are long overdue. As it was, the development of the Election Code was not completed until the school ended; but work continued throughout the summer vacation until its completion a week before the SY 2003-2004 enrollment.

In early 2003, there were changes in the composition of the Council. Marlo Zerrudo, our Treasurer, had to resign to be able to attend to pressing personal problems. Later, Rico Suarez, our Auditor had a change of job location and had to cross-register to UP Diliman. We were able to replace our Treasurer with Jun Sarmiento, himself a former officer of the previous Council.

OFFICERS

There were, originally, seven positions in the Student Council, namely: President, VP for Academic Affairs, VP for Non-Academic Affairs, Secretary General, Treasurer, Auditor, and Public Relations Officer. Three more positions were created by this council, namely, the Program Representatives for each academic program. These positions will be up for grabs this coming election.
